Adding New Club Members Correctly

Adding new members to your club? Congratulations! Just make sure you’re doing it right.

As a club officer who is responsible for registering members at World Headquarters, are you aware that you have two groups to handle?

The first group is easy.
New members who have no past history with Toastmasters can be added online. Simply add them on our Web site's Club Business Page.

The second group is almost as easy.
Any new members in your club who fall into one of these three groups require a little more handling. They cannot be added online:

  • Reinstated members  (members who left Toastmasters but are now returning)
  • Dual members (members of more than one active club)
  • Transferred members (members of one active club who are moving to another club)

Simply mail in your reinstated, dual and transferred members’ applications, with dues to:

Toastmasters International
23182 Arroyo Vista
Rancho Santa Margarita, CA 92688

Alternately, you may fax them in with a credit card number to:  949-858-1207

Call WHQ for more information at 949-858-8255.

How do you know which group someone belongs in?
Make sure all new club members fill out their applications completely, including the section covering these membership issues. Then, be sure to check for that information on each application when you prepare to turn in your lists of new members to World Headquarters.

Why is this necessary?
We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this two-part process. In order to keep your records safe, secure and correct within our current database system, Toastmasters International has determined that this method is necessary for the time being. The process will eventually be merged in the most cost-efficient manner for Toastmasters. As a nonprofit organization, we strive to balance technological improvements with cost effectiveness. Thank you for your help!
