Toastmasters International Appoints New Executive Director

The Board of Directors of Toastmasters International has appointed Daniel Rex as the organization’s new Executive Director. The decision was announced at the organization’s International Convention in Calgary on August 11, following the resignation of former Executive Director Donna Groh.

Dan, a longtime member of the Toastmasters World Headquarters staff, was most recently Deputy Executive Director and Director, Communications and Marketing. As Executive Director, he oversees World Headquarters’ expansion of products and services, and its staff of 79. He interacts closely with the Board of Directors in making sure the organization’s strategic objectives are implemented and executed.

Dan has been a part of World Headquarters for more than 18 years and has extensive knowledge of the organization’s operations worldwide. He has been a Toastmaster for 16 years and is currently a member of the Rancho Speechmasters club in Rancho Santa Margarita, California.

Dan enjoys snow skiing and scuba diving with his family, as well as riding his motorcycle in the desert and reading books on history. He lives with his wife, Lauri, two teenage sons and a daughter in Rancho Santa Margarita, California.
